Instagram Grid Posting Order: Why You Upload Tile 9 First
In the default newest-first layout, the last photo you post lands in the top left. Upload bottom-right first and top-left last to place the tiles in reading order.
The fix is to post in reverse: bottom right first, top left last. This Instagram grid maker

Post them in numerical order. Position and thumbnail cropping are separate: square tiles
may still lose their edges on a portrait profile grid.

What order should I post the 9 images in?
For the default newest-first layout, post bottom-right first and top-left last. The ZIP names files instagram-grid-post-1-of-9.png through instagram-grid-post-9-of-9.png; post them in numerical order. Manual reordering and pinned posts can change their positions. Check thumbnail cropping separately.
What image size does this grid maker for Instagram output?
Each tile is a square up to 1080 by 1080 pixels. A source at least 3240 pixels on its short side gives nine full-size tiles with centre cropping. Smaller sources produce smaller tiles, and the page shows their actual dimensions. Preview settings do not change the downloads.
Does it add a watermark?

Why does my photo get cropped to a square?
This tool exports a 3x3 arrangement of square tiles, so the default takes the largest centred square from your image. Stretch to fit keeps the whole frame but distorts its proportions. The portrait profile crop is a separate preview of thumbnail cropping.
Will the square tiles join seamlessly on my profile?
Not necessarily. A centred 3:4 profile thumbnail hides 12.5% from each side of a square tile, which can break the joins. Compare Full square tiles with Profile crop (3:4), then check your own Instagram thumbnails. The crop preview is a simulation and does not change the exported files.
Can I rearrange existing Instagram posts?
Instagram has announced a Reorder grid feature. On your profile, press and hold a post, choose Reorder grid if available, and drag items into place. If the option is missing, check the current app and your account’s available settings before deleting or reposting.
